As the name implies, NBFCs (Non-Banking Financial Companies) are not banks. Their operations are not supported by CASA or Current Account Savings Account contributions. Because CASA deposits are solely of interest to banks, the RBI grants banks licences to accept funds from the general public. To achieve financial stability, NBFCs must ensure the proper allocation of capital in each of its sectors. Because business finance for NBFCs is a never-ending process, it should be carried out on a regular basis.
